He mentioned that they went to a wood near their original RV point (Wolfheze Station), were they waited for theirs orders. Two officers of the Squadron turned up and with some 30 gliders pilots, they fought along A Company 156 Parachute Battalion along the woods at the Dreijenseweg.

Major John Pott, A company commander wrote about them in his account written shortly after the Battle:

"A few minutes afterwards A Coy with one 6 pdr ATK gun attached, and platoon of Glider Pilots in lieu of 3 Pl moved on either side of a woodland ride, our starting point mist have been the track junction 948651 towards its objective the Lichtenbeek 956652. The coy moved in the order 4 pl, tac HQ, 5 pl, Glider Pilots (Capts Muir & Smith) A/T gun and 2IC Captain Terry Rodgers. Our first bound was to be the road. As they neared the road the trees thinned and 4 pl came under heavy attack from 2-3 LMGs just west of the road. They seemed to be getting stuck in the ditches beside the road so the OC decided to use the guns of 5 pl as fire group and do a left flanking attack with the remainder of 5 pl and the Glider Pilots ,passing through 4pl.

Soon after 5 pl guns openend up Lt Delacour shouted that he was hit, but could look after the guns, so 5 pl rifle groups came under command of Sgt gilmour, the Glider Pilots never really got into position for attack due to fire from their left, and I think Muir was killed at this point so the OC took the assault in without them.

CSM with 18set, and Glider Pilots all still to the west of the road".
